v0.1.0 Self-hosted preview · in release
The first installable release. One engineer hosts, everyone else joins with an invite.
- Hosting.
mai hostruns the server and Postgres in Docker, with a Cloudflare quick tunnel (--tunnel) or a named tunnel on your own domain (--cloudflare-token). - Access. Single-use invites (
mai invite), per-engineer tokens, mai revoketo cut someone off,mai join --forceto rotate tokens. - Facts from hooks. File edits, including shell edits, recorded automatically. Exported-API changes diffed on every edit; new migrations flagged.
- Dependency graph of TypeScript repos built from
origin/mainand refreshed when it moves, so changes are routed only to the leads whose code imports them. - Ownership and claims.
mai own/mai disownfor declared areas; first-edit claims with expiry so two teams never edit the same file at once. - Critical changes and escalation. Breaking export changes and migrations go to the lead, which approves against logged decisions or escalates to the engineer. A merge-time safety net catches what hooks missed, including merges that land while the host is down.
- Visibility from the terminal.
mai status, mai log,mai claims, mai escalations, mai host status. The server reports its build so a stale image is obvious. - Fails open. With the host down, hooks pass, leads keep working and the channel replays what was missed.
- Telemetry, off by default, one ping a day of counts only when a host opts in.
